At $112 a Barrel Oil Prices are Still Cheap

Oil prices are well over $100 per barrel; the price will stay this high, and definitely get substantially higher.

This Tuesday, U.S. Energy Department reported that that there is a high probability that oil remains at an average of $101 a barrel this year. This was big revision of their January’s forecast. (reference)

For decades Europeans have paid relatively tremendous prices for their gasoline. Over $5 per gallon is something Europeans have been used to for a long time. Are Americans spoiled? (rhetorical). We have had cheap oil forever, and now that gasoline prices in the US are catching up to the rest of the world the American public is getting nervous. We really shouldn’t be getting nervous, as I have know for a long time that gas prices are well over $5 per gallon in Europe. I have been expecting increases in gas prices for a long time. Its simply supply and demand, and supply can no longer keep up with demand. According to the theory of peak oil, we are currently in a transitional phase where it is impossible to extract and refine enough oil to keep up with gasoline demand.

Even as American drivers complain about “gas pains,” they can count their blessings that they don’t live in Europe, where motorists pay more than twice as much at the petrol pumps. (reference)

Prices will get higher. Think about getting rid of your car and taking public transportation. In NYC that golden Metrocard is looking better and better. Have patients to wait for the bus, and you can save yourself substantial money on a weekly basis.

Getting Turned Down for a Job

There are three possible ways to get turn down for a job:

1) A phone call, with a precise explanation of why you were not selected.

This is the best method, because it is actually constructive and will allow you to tailor your resume for future applications. I have never received a single constructive phone call.

2) An email.

This simply sucks, as it is not constructive at all. There is zero feedback. No information on how to better your resume. In the future I will forward these emails directly to my junk folder.

3) NOTHING AT ALL.

This option is far beyond sucking. This is simply frustrating. You go on monster, or careerbuilder and submit hundred of resumes and you get absolutely nothing in return.

I at the point where the following is a reasonable conclusion.

Move to India to get an outsourced American job.

Huckabee - A Good Person but….

There are many good people in the world. Good people can be religious, agnostic, atheist; frankly belief is independent of a persons quality and nature. Although, the American government has no room for religion. Why? Because what religion should be included? If one is included they all should be included. I believe in equal opportunity to all, therefore the only way to preserve equal opportunity is to leave religion completely out of our government. Bush actually created an “office for faith based initiative”. WOW. I just heard all the constitutional signers roll over in their graves. The following image is a scan from the NY Times.
